Valentine's Day is here. Show yourself love with these affirmations.

Valentine’s Day is known as the day of love, and while we often think of romantic gestures and heart-shaped candy, we forget about a love more important than that. It’s our love of self. If you’re anything like me, age, weight gain or any number of issues may have distorted how you see yourself. But you’re still you. You may be packaged differently, but that person you loved so long ago is still there.

To practice loving yourself, here’s a list of 3 important affirmations for you to read daily (and their supporting bible verses). It may not be today, or even a week, but if you continue to meditate on these words and commit them to memory, you’ll learn to believe them. And when you fully love yourself, imperfections and all, you can tackle any of life’s challenges with strength and dignity.

I was known and loved before I was even dreamt of.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart. “(Jeremiah 1:5a, NIV)

Nothing can keep God's love from me, so I am free to love myself.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” (Romans 8:38, NLT)

I am blessed because I know that God is telling the truth.

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” (Luke 1:45, NIV)

If we read the affirmations together, they would read like this:

I was known and loved before I was even dreamt of. Nothing can keep God’s love from me, so I am free to love myself. I am blessed because I know God is telling the truth.

Isn't that beautiful? The best part is that it's the truth! Listen, you are the best Valentine's present you could ever give yourself. Commit to being whole this season!
